In Their Own Image

My mom sent me an article from the Telegraph that said all it would take to create the universe, or a universe, would be the ability to create black holes.

Easy.

The up-shoot of the article was that this wasn’t really such a far fetched idea.  That a being with sufficiently advanced technology and the knowledge to do it could create black holes, and in turn universes, and even determine the physics that would govern the created universe based on the attributes of the black hole.

You ever start a project at home and then just kind of forget about it?  You ever burn your muffins in the oven?  And it hits you kind of slow like.  You think, what’s that smell, and you look up and the kitchen is full of smoke.

What if the creator of this universe was just trying to make dinosaurs.  It missed them!  What could we offer them if they show up?  A DVD of Jurassic Park?

Actually when you consider how incredibly difficult it is for life to form in this universe, you’ve got to think whatever made this place was really only concerned with making some landscapes (spacescapes?).  We are unforeseen consequences.  What was that line in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy?  God’s last message to his creation?

“We apologize for the inconvenience.”
